Organised by Leuven MindGate in cooperation with imec
Among the diverse and ever-expanding list of candidate technologies to serve the new wave of digital transformation, the rise of flexible electronics has been nothing short of meteoric.
In less than two decades, new types of organic and oxide semiconductors have been exploited in a large variety of electronic and optoelectronic applications, such as light- emitting diodes (OLEDs), thin-film transistors (TFTs), photovoltaics, and sensors.
Today, several of these technologies have already made their way to the market, especially in the field of flexible displays and integrated circuits. Many more are in the R&D track and about to graduate: large-area biometric image sensors, AR/VR glasses, haptic human machine interfaces are just a few examples.
