Leuven MindGate Events workshop 'The essentials of Project Management'

Project management has become more than a collection of planning techniques and systems. It has become an integrated method for individuals and organizations to reach their goals. A part of the modern management toolkit, it allows companies to cope with challenges such as growth, change, mergers, and restructuring.

In this one day training, you’ll learn how you can complete projects in a successful and satisfying manner. Do you manage projects, but you feel you lack the experience for setting up projects, planning, reporting and team management ? Then this training is for you.

First, we’ll explore the basic components of project management and the project life cycle. We will focus on a good and careful preparation, strategic planning and collaboration. These are essential to keep projects on track, even when unpredictable events strike.

Secondly, you’ll learn about the skills you need to ensure that projects are delivered on time, on budget and with the desired results. We will discuss the execution of a project, how to plan and organise effective meetings, and how to report and present the status and (intermediate) results.

Please bring your own case to the workshop. You can work on it during the assignments and the feedback from the participants and trainer.

Target group

This course is especially suited for people who have their first time experience in project management and need hands-on skills to help them successfully complete project assignments. Junior project managers will learn how to define, plan and execute a project, even a complex one. In addition to the hands-on skills, we also give you the basis and fundamentals of project management, which you will need if you want to grow in project management.

Facilitator

This one-day workshop is facilitated by José Hendrikx (Straight Business Partners), also trainer of the Leuven MindGate workshop ‘Collaborating with teams and individuals as a Project Manager’ we already organised in the past.
