3D-printing: socio-economic driver and ecological bliss?

Additive manufacturing or 3D-printing is challenging the classical production and the supply chain model through the redistribution of jobs and the reduction of transport and stock. Yet, before 3D printing reaches a mass market, both businesses and governments are called to account for setting new standards in materials, competition and intellectual property to guarantee a sustainable infrastructure and an ecological bliss. This workshop will explore some of the solutions coming from academic research, policy issues in the UK and from the arts world.
