AnSem develops a novel architecture for FM Car Radio

Leading car manufacturers challenged AnSem to rethink current architectures of FM receivers for the automotive market. The result is a novel radio architecture that meets the high demanding car radio RF specifications and lowers the bill of material. During the system design, AnSem made extensive use of its development tools M-REX for receiver modeling and architecture definition and PLLOP for PLL design and optimisation. The architecture features a fully integrated, low power fractional-N synthesizer and requires only one external RF filter. AnSem made it ready for the digital radio standards as well. Thanks to CMOS implementation and the elimination of external components, the novel architecture drives down the cost for the next generation car infotainment systems.
