Luciad Provides 3-D spatial processing capabilities for SAP HANA

Luciad software offers a spatial engine for SAP’s in-memory computing platform SAP HANA.

The SAP HANA product management team identified Luciad to bring high performance 3-D visualization support to SAP HANA’s SPS10 release. “The power of LuciadLightspeed and SAP HANA is opening a world of new possibilities and allowing users to fully harness the power their big data,” said Luciad Chief Commercial Officer Christoph De Preter. “We are excited that SAP customers can now rely on the power of LuciadLightspeed for their geospatial situational awareness needs,” De Preter continued. “Our collaboration with SAP HANA has yielded multiple promising projects that stand to shape the future of industries ranging from agriculture and farming to aerospace and homeland security.”

The two companies began their collaboration in 2014. Several demonstration applications for smart farming, human geography and flight management are available online. Luciad’s flagship product LuciadLightspeed serves as the geospatial software for all three applications. SAP HANA SPS10 offers integration of Luciad 3-D spatial processing, and LuciadLightspeed offers an SAP HANA data connector.
