Capricorn ICT ARKIV participates in a €6 million equity financing round of Right Brain Interface


Leuven – 19 July 2013 – Capricorn ICT ARKIV nv participates in a € 6 million equity financing round of Right Brain Interface nv, the software company behind bhaalu, the new intuitive TV viewing experience. This financing allows Right Brain Interface to further develop and market its product, a unique video recorder.

Capricorn ICT Arkiv invests with a strong syndicate of Top Flemish Investors Alongside Capricorn ICT Arkiv, managed by Leuven venture capital provider Capricorn Venture Partners, the capital increase of €6 million is being underwritten by the Limburg investment company LRM (Limburgse Investeringsmaatschappij) via its Arkiv‐daughter KMOFIN 2, independent investment company PMV (ParticipatieMaatschappij Vlaanderen), Diepensteyn (the holding company of the family shareholders of Palm Breweries) and Pamica (the investment vehicle of Michel Akkermans, formerly FICS and presently Clear2Pay CEO and president). Employees, friends and family are also participating in this capital increase, as is RBI’s own management, which is acting through HolyBrain, the investment vehicle of founders Bart Van Coppenolle and Philip Vandormael, former top managers of Metris.

Further development & commercialisation of bhaalu thanks to capital increase The new capital will be invested in the product development and marketing of Right Brain Interface’s first product, bhaalu. Bhaalu is a unique video recorder, which enables viewers to record and view all content across all TV channels to which they are entitled, and to choose where and when they wish to view programmes, whether on their TV screen or other platforms. Bhaalu is operated via an intuitive TV interface, which makes it easy to locate everything in the consumer's personal TV universe.

About Right Brain Interface and bhaalu

Right Brain Interface offers the viewer the next‐generation TV viewing experience, which transforms linear TV viewing into view‐on‐demand, enabling Personal Catch‐All TV Everywhere via collaborative video recording, based upon proprietary technologies, including authentication. With their personal video recorder – bhaalu – viewers are able to record and watch all content on all TV channels to which they are legally entitled. The intuitive bhaalu user interface allows viewers to easily discover their own personal and social video universe and choose where and when they wish to view their recordings in private: on the large TV screen or on a smaller second screen.

A private community of 500 beta and commercial users in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, the US and Singapore are testing bhaalu. The response of these initial users is very enthusiastic; they now see the bhaalu viewing experience as indispensable.
