Cochlear wins Quality Boost and is awarded by the ESI-CIT Group

Cochlear Technology Centre Belgium in Mechelen won the voucher for 25,000 Euros, which was offered in early June via the contest of ESI-CIT Group.

Cochlear is the world market leader in innovative implantable hearing solutions for the hearing impaired. The company is committed to enabling people around the world to experience what sound is. Thanks to Cochlear’s hearing systems, 250,000 people in more than 100 countries can once again understand what their family and friends are saying to them. Mechelen has the largest R&D centre outside Australia. Since the expertise of this centre is unique to the company, there is continuous investment in new developments.

Carl Van Himbeeck, General Manager at Cochlear Technology Centre Belgium in Mechelen is particularly happy with the cheque: “We are extremely pleased to have won this competition. This award will go to our continuous development of product and process innovations for implantable hearing systems.”

ESI-CIT Group is also very happy with the winner and the way the competition has run. They had shortlisted three projects from the entries submitted, and visited the three companies in question along with the jury (Innovatiecentrum Limburg, Provincie Limburg, BAN Vlaanderen and JCI Vlaanderen). They were all interesting projects and this has yet again proven that companies realise that the quality of their products and their work efficiency can both be improved. Provided however, they have the courage to review their own business with a critical eye. And for this reason, ESI-CIT Group will challenge them again next year during the second edition of Time for a Boost. Because quality is not an option - it is desperately needed!
