Submit your Cleantech idea @ CleanTech Challenge 2012!


CleanTech Challenge is an innovative competition for students in Belgium in cooperation with the International CleanTech Challenge in London.
Any student with a great idea can participate. Help to build a better future through environmentally-friendly technology and win a €5,000 cash price.

Who?

Target group: all entrepreneurial economic, science and engineering students (bio-, civil- and industrial), PhD’s and MBA’s. Open to all other students with a CleanTech idea.

Take on the challenge

  • Form a multidisciplinary team of 3-5 students (Bachelor, Master, MBA, PhD in the field of Economics, Engineering, Science or other)
  • Describe your CleanTech idea in 200 words
  • Go to 'submit an entry' and register for our competition! (You can already submit your idea without a team or submit your team without an idea, but make sure that you complete both before March 4th!)
  • Your team members can join your team on this platform without submitting their own entry: they just have to click on your start up and send a request by clicking on 'I'm on this team'
  • Come to the Kick Off Event on February 24th and discuss your idea with professionals

The feasable ideas will be selected to go to the second round. Here your team will get a short task to work out your idea more detailled.

The ten best teams will then be selected for the national finals -the Leuven Bootcamp (april 15-16)- where they can present their idea in front of a jury of professionals!We will then select the winner of the CleanTech Challenge 2011. This team gets to take home our main price of € 5000!
The winner and the runner up will also get a wildcard and a free trip to the European CleanTech Challenge in London where they get the possibility to win another £ 5000!

Dates to keep in mind

  • December 2011 - Start registration for Kick-Off event and idea submissions.
  • February 20 - Kick-Off Event: Attend the lectures of some renowned speakers, improve your idea by networking with professionals and find team(members) during the speed dating
  • February 26 - 1st deadline: Idea submission
  • February 26 - March 5: Jury selection on feasibility + feedback from coaches
  • March 5-13: Develop the idea in your teams according to the given assignment
  • March 13: 2nd deadline: work out your idea according to the given assignment
  • March 14 – 22: Jury selection of the best teams (5-10)
  • March 24: Bootcamp: Competition, dinner and announcement of winners
  • April 25 – 27: European Finals London
